This affected the accessibility of multiple popular sites, including X and ChatGPT, with error messages indicating, \u201cPlease unblock challenges.cloudflare.com to proceed.\u201d Even DownDetector, a website that generally tracks internet outages, wasn\u2019t spared from this hiccup.<\/p>\n
The disruption began at approximately 6:20 AM ET and was attributed to a configuration file that handled threat traffic. According to Cloudflare spokesperson Jackie Dutton, this file unexpectedly outgrew the anticipated number of entries, causing the software system that handles Cloudflare\u2019s services traffic to crash. There is, however, no evidence suggesting this was due to any attack or malicious activity in the system.<\/p>\n
