SpaceX’s ambition: A network in the stars

In this case, becoming a ‘Type II’ civilization implies the potential of harnessing the full energy output of the Sun, using concepts such as the theoretical ‘Dyson Sphere.’ This advanced level of energy control would, presumably, significantly boost our technological capabilities – and SpaceX’s ambitious endeavour could be the first stepping stone.
